Cinematic wedding photography is about telling a story in a beautiful, artistic way - evoking emotion and atmosphere.

While documentary, or reportage-style wedding photography focuses on capturing real, authentic moments as they naturally unfold.

My goal? To create images that’s are artistic and emotive as they are raw and authentic.

Learn all about my approach to photographing weddings below.

If I had to sum up my approach to wedding photography in two words, it would be "cinematic" and "documentary". What does this mean?

Documentary Wedding Photography with a Cinematic Touch

 Cinematic Wedding Photography:
light, composition and emotion

As a cinematic wedding photographer, I strive to create an immersive experience where your photos transport you back to the true emotions and real moments of your day. I focus on storytelling wedding photography that’s both visually stunning and deeply personal, highlighting the candid, honest moments that make your day truly yours.

With intention and passion, I'll document it all - from quiet in-between glances to big emotional highs. This is authentic wedding photography at its core: honest, beautiful, and filled with feeling. When you look back at your photos years later, I want them to instantly transport you back to how it felt.

A Consistent, Natural Style with Cinematic Flair

I keep a cohesive photography style across my work, with natural and subtly muted colours, soft textures, and rich shadows that create a gentle yet cinematic feel. Every photo is carefully edited to ensure natural colours and smooth, balanced skin tones.

But it’s not just about making your photos stunning. My favourite images are the ones full of life: those fleeting, heartfelt expressions, captured through a candid style of wedding photography.

Documentary Wedding Photography: Relaxed & Natural Storytelling

On your wedding day, I focus on capturing your day naturally and effortlessly. I take a relaxed wedding photography approach, gently guiding where needed (like portraits or group shots), but otherwise blending into the background.

Using a reportage style, I let the day unfold naturally - always ready to catch the tears, laughter, and joy that make your story unique. I use ambient light as much as possible and only bring out a flash when necessary.

The result? Natural wedding photography that captures the true spirit of your celebration - filled with connection, feeling, and moments you didn’t even realise were happening.

A Typical Wedding Day Photography Timeline

Every wedding is different, and no two timelines are ever the same. Infact, I don't set any time limits at all, as I want to just be present for the natural flow of your day, without unneeded constraints. The times below are flexible, I may arrive and leave earlier or later, it all just depends on your plans. Some couples skip group shots entirely, while others prioritise portraits. Some want a quiet morning, others are surrounded by friends. That said, here's what a typical full-day photography timeline might look like when you book me:

10:00am – I arrive and start with relaxed detail shots: your outfits, invites, and any little touches that make the day personal.
11:00am – Morning preparations and natural, candid moments with both partners (if logistics allow).
12:00pm – Final prep, and any solo shots you’d like before the ceremony.
1:00pm – Ceremony coverage
1:30pm – Confetti moment! One of the most joyful shots of the day.
1:45pm – Group photos
2:15pm – A short, relaxed couples shoot (10–15 minutes) while guests mingle.
2:30pm – Candid reception coverage: drinks, hugs, garden games, and atmosphere.
5:00pm – Guests are seated, followed by speeches. I capture the laughs, the tears, and everything in between.
7:00pm – A quick golden hour couples shoot (if the light allows).
9:00pm – First dance and party coverage, right up until you’ve got a solid dancefloor full of memories.

Wedding Photography Inspired By Nature

When I photograph weddings, I take inspiration from the beauty of the surroundings. Whether it's the wild coastline, a stunning countryside venue, or a peaceful garden setting, I draw from the landscape to create artistic wedding photography that fits the natural beauty of your venue.

My work is rooted in outdoor wedding photography - and I often find that natural light, the weather, the season, and the location are the quiet heroes of your gallery. From golden-hour portraits to rich, rain-soaked moments, these elements shape the look and feel of every frame. It's all part of creating timeless and natural wedding photography that feels grounded and romantic.
