The Atlantic Hotel in Newquay is one of the most iconic wedding venues in Cornwall, with huge windows and a lawn that looks straight out to sea. It’s safe to say I’ve been excited about Naomi and Nathan’s summer wedding for a long time!
The day started with Naomi getting ready with her bridesmaids and flower girls in one of the luxury balcony rooms. There was music playing, kids laughing, and at one point we got everyone to jump on the bed for a chaotic photo that felt like a perfect summary of the morning. Meanwhile, Nathan was getting ready just down the corridor with his groomsmen, excited with a few nerves.
Once Naomi was in her beautiful Wed2B wedding dress, her dad walked her through the hotel to the ceremony where Nathan, and all their guests were waiting. Their Celebrant, Emma Lea, beautifully led the ceremony which took place in the tea room, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the ocean. Nathan was emotional as Naomi walked in, and their children brought so much fun and warmth to the moment.
After the ceremony, we headed outside for group photos on the lawn. The views were unreal. Guests enjoyed cocktails in the sun while we worked our way through the group photos and then moved onto some more relaxed couple portraits around the gardens and cliffs.
Naomi and Nathan’s kids joined in too, giving us some of the most playful photos. We then snuck away to the Lookout Viewpoint, for some creative portraits with dramatic skies and the Atlantic below us.
Dinner and speeches followed, and then the surprise entertainment arrived: Lacey B, posing as a waitress who faked a fall and then launched into a full-blown performance. It completely caught the guests off guard and kick-started the evening with all the guests singing and dancing.
With it being one of the longest days of the year, the sunset came late, but it was worth the wait. The light over the sea was golden, and we got some of my favourite portraits of the year.
