Ellen and Rob’s spring wedding at Hyde House in the Cotswolds made the most of everything this venue does best. As a Cotswolds wedding photographer, Hyde House is an incredible place to photograph. With its rolling countryside views, elegant gardens, iconic barn and beautiful golden hour light, it’s perfectly suited to relaxed, atmospheric wedding photography.
Georgina Rose Events acted as their planner and on the day co-ordinator, helping Ellen and Rob plan their day thoughtfully, creating space for calm moments while making the most of the stunning venue.

I started the morning between both sides of the wedding. Rob and his groomsmen were getting ready in The Library, wearing suits from Slaters, while Ellen and her bridal party spent the morning in the Barn Loft. Hair by Gee Barnett and makeup by Emma Ludlow helped Ellen and her bridesmaids get ready. Ellen wore a Coast dress, jewellery by Hannah Kimber.

Before the ceremony, Ellen and Rob chose to have a first look beneath the arbour in Hyde House’s gardens. Surrounded by cherry blossom and spring sunshine, it gave them a quiet chance to see each other before the celebrations began.

With full day photography coverage, Ellen and Rob were able to plan their timeline around what felt right for them, rather than strictly following traditional wedding conventions. Their first look gave them space for some beautiful, quiet portraits together before the ceremony, while also allowing us to complete their formal family group photos in the morning. This thoughtful structure kept the rest of the day feeling relaxed and seamless, giving them more freedom to fully enjoy the celebrations with their guests.

Once guests arrived, it was time for the ceremony in Hyde House’s beautiful barn. Etiquette Events, created the floral arch and urn arrangements that framed key parts of the day. Live music from The Afterparty filled the space, while personal readings and the stunning countryside views created an emotional and intimate atmosphere.

As Ellen and Rob walked back down the aisle, their excitement was impossible to miss. Those first moments just after the ceremony were full of pure joy, emotion and celebration, creating some of the most natural and memorable images of the entire day.

Afterwards, confetti outside the main house brought a burst of energy before guests moved seamlessly into drinks and celebrations. With formal group photos already taken care of in the morning, everyone could fully relax into the day.

The wedding breakfast was one of the standout parts of the celebration. Ellen and Rob made their entrance to cheering guests waving napkins, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. Speeches brought some of the day’s most emotional moments, with beautiful natural light pouring through Hyde House’s reception space.

Golden hour at Hyde House is something special. The warm evening light across the gardens and surrounding countryside creates some of the venue’s most iconic portrait opportunities. We explored both the front of the house and the courtyard gardens, where the combination of soft spring light, nature and Hyde House’s elegant architecture created some cinematic wedding portraits.

As sun dipped below the horizon, the celebrations shifted into party mode. Ellen and Rob shared a short first dance before guests quickly filled the dancefloor. One of the evening’s highlights came when Ellen and a bridesmaid took to the stage for an unforgettable performance of their own. With The Afterparty keeping the energy high throughout both day and evening, the dancefloor stayed packed well into the night. A fun father-daughter dance later in the evening was the perfect way to round off an incredible day.

Ellen and Rob’s Hyde House wedding was a perfect example of how thoughtful planning, relaxed moments and an incredible venue can come together to create something truly special. A beautiful spring celebration full of warmth, personality and unforgettable light.
