A Pagan Themed Wedding at Cockington Court in Devon

“We honestly couldn’t have asked for anything else from Elliot. We felt so comfortable and the photos are just beautiful. Would definitely recommend going for the pre-wedding photoshoot as it was the best way for us to get comfortable in front of the camera, and also get to know Elliot before the big day. We love him and his work so much we’ve already booked him for Part 2 of our Wedding next year!”

– Charley and Jake

Charley and Jake’s wedding was everything a small, intimate celebration should be—charming, personal, and full of character. Held on a crisp November day at Cockington Court, the couple invited only their closest family to share in the occasion. With the sun shining brightly, it was the perfect backdrop for a day that was both elegant and fun, with just a touch of mystery.

The dress code was all-black attire, which set the stage for an elegant and slightly spooky vibe. Of course, Charley added her own twist to the theme by rocking a white dress with a disco-themed top—she literally outshone them all, bringing a touch of sparkle and fun to the day.

The ceremony was one of those moments that felt special because of how personal it was. Charley and Jake exchanged their vows in front of a small group of loved ones. Both of them needed a tissue or two, as the vows were heartfelt and sincere, making the moment all the more meaningful.

After the ceremony, I managed to get a some photos of Charley and Jake having a quiet moment inside, before heading out for the group shots. We headed to the local churchyard for the group photos, and the weather couldn’t have been better. The sun streamed through the trees, casting a soft glow over the scene.

Following the group photos, the celebration moved to Cockington Court’s rose garden for a champagne toast. Next, the couple and their family made their way to The Drum Inn for a cosy meal. The intimate setting was perfect for relaxed conversations, great food, and plenty of laughter. It was a nice shift from the formality of the ceremony, giving everyone a chance to unwind and enjoy the day.

After the meal, we returned to Cockington Court for a couple’s photoshoot in the gardens. The late afternoon light was golden, casting a warm glow over the grounds.

As evening set in, the couple’s reception at Charley’s family home took on a distinct pagan theme. With nature-inspired decor and potion-themed cocktails, the vibe was magical and fun. Charley swapped her wedding gown for a black dress, which fit perfectly with the mystical feel of the evening.

The highlight of the night was the pagan hand-fasting ceremony, which took place under the full moon. Surrounded by candles and an open fire, Charley and Jake exchanged vows once again in a beautiful, intimate moment. The flickering light and the moon overhead made the ceremony feel timeless and a bit otherworldly.

To wrap up the day, we did one last photoshoot in the dark, using candles to create a soft, intimate glow. Charley and Jake embraced under the night sky, a perfect ending to a wedding that was filled with love, creativity, and a hint of magic.
