Naomi and Nathan’s Wedding at The Atlantic Hotel, Newquay
The Atlantic Hotel in Newquay is a dream setting for a summer celebration. With huge windows, a clifftop lawn and views straight out to sea, it is one of the most striking coastal venues in Cornwall. As a Cornwall wedding photographer, Naomi and Nathan’s day was everything I love about seaside weddings: bright light, relaxed moments and a golden-hour finish over the Atlantic.
The morning started with Naomi getting ready with her bridesmaids and flower girls in one of the balcony suites. Music was playing, everyone was laughing, and at one point we had the whole room jumping on the bed for a photo that summed up the mood perfectly. Nathan was getting ready just down the corridor with his groomsmen, excited with a few nerves.
Once Naomi was in her Wed2B dress, her dad walked her through the hotel to the ceremony. Celebrant Emma Lea led a beautiful ceremony in the tea room, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows and ocean views. Nathan was emotional as Naomi walked in, and their children brought a lovely, playful energy to the whole moment.
After the ceremony, we headed onto the lawn for group photos. The views were incredible, and guests enjoyed cocktails in the sun while we worked through the photos and then moved into some couple portraits around the gardens and cliffs.
We took a short walk to the Lookout Viewpoint for a set of creative portraits with dramatic skies and the Atlantic below us. With the sea breeze and that huge horizon, it was one of the highlights of the day for me.
Dinner and speeches followed, and then the surprise entertainment arrived. Lacey B posed as a waitress, staged a dramatic fall and launched straight into a full performance that had the entire room on their feet. It completely caught everyone off guard and set the tone for a brilliant evening.
Because it was one of the longest days of the year, the sunset arrived late, but it was worth the wait. The light over the ocean turned golden, and we captured some of my favourite portraits of the entire summer.
Naomi and Nathan’s wedding was everything a Cornwall seaside wedding should be: relaxed, warm and full of energy from start to finish.
