Lakeside Wedding Ceremony At Cornish Tipi Weddings

Cornish Tipi Weddings is the most atmospheric places for a lakeside ceremony in Cornwall. Hidden in woodland and surrounded by water, it suits couples who love nature, simplicity and time outdoors. As a Cornwall wedding photographer, Amy and Ayeisha’s day was everything I love about relaxed, nature-inspired weddings.

I first met them a few dys before their wedding for a pre-wedding photoshoot on the beach where they got engaged. We actually decided to go for a swim, which made for some great photos! They mentioned they were a little nervous about having their photo taken, so this session was a great chance for us to get to know each other and ease into things. By the end, they were completely themselves in front of the camera.

Just a few days later, it was time for the wedding. Amy and Ayeisha are some of the warmest and most adventurous people I have met.

Their nature-inspired wedding ceremony was beautifully led by Keely The Celebrant. With no phone signal and nothing but trees and water around us, it felt incredibly peaceful. You could not ask for a more tranquil setting.

Right after they were married, Amy and Ayeisha climbed into a small rowing boat and headed out into the middle of the lake for their private vows. It took them a few minutes to figure out the oars, which made for some brilliant photos, and once they reached the centre of the lake, the moment became quiet and meaningful.

On the way back, they even climbed into a tree for a few portraits, which could not have suited them more.

The whole day was intentionally simple. No strict timings, no stress, no long list of logistics. Just a small group of people enjoying time together in a beautiful place. With no signal, the only sounds were the trees moving in the wind and chickens wandering past. It really was the definition of a relaxed wedding.

After confetti and a quick flower toss, everyone changed into casual clothes and spent the afternoon swimming, relaxing by the lake and enjoying the sunshine. As the temperature cooled, everyone gathered around the campfire for marshmallows, stories and the kind of slow, wholesome atmosphere you rarely get on a wedding day.

As the light softened, we took some golden hour portraits, keeping everything relaxed. Their son joined in too, which gave us some lovely family frames to end the day.

Amy and Ayeisha’s wedding was one of my most relaxed weddings of the year, and easily one of the most wholesome. It was such a pleasure getting to know them and spending two days capturing their story.
