“We used Elliot for our wedding and the photos he took and edited for us are phenomenal, we love them so much! He was very reasonable priced too. He was great the whole time, we can’t express our gratitude enough.
He is a really great photographer and person in general, everyone at the wedding has sung his praises and said he was really fun and a laugh. We just wanted to let him know, he was as popular as his photography, if not more.
He was really supportive and understanding with my wife’s M.E and disabilities the whole time, listened to our vision and made sure to work within the realms of my wife’s ability at the time and was still able to produce the most magical photos.”
– Micki and Roy
Roy and Micki’s wedding in the heart of Dartmoor was everything an outdoor wedding should be: dramatic weather, full of atmosphere, and cinematic light. When I arrived at Badgers Holt in Dartmeet, it was drizzling on and off. Micki was getting ready in her bridal suite, while Roy ran around completing some final jobs.
It was a last-minute decision to continue with the outdoor ceremony by the river. The space was beautifully decorated by florist Milli Fleur. The oak tree provided natural shelter, and the sights and sounds of the River Dart created the perfect backdrop. I even spotted a grey wagtail just before Micki walked down the aisle (though photographing the bird wasn’t the priority at that moment!).
After the ceremony, signing of the register, and confetti, we went straight into the group photos, using the same backdrop as the ceremony.
Next came a short couples shoot by the river. With the help of Roy and Micki’s bridesmaids, they adventurously made their way across the stones to the middle of the river.
Then it was time for the reception, with drinks, speeches, and dancing!
With emotions high after the dancing and speeches, Roy and Micki requested a private photoshoot a short drive away in remote Dartmoor. As soon as we arrived at our location, it started raining heavily, but they did not care! It made the whole experience all the more fun and unforgettable. The moody weather provided an ideal backdrop for some atmospheric photos.
Once we returned to the venue, it was time for sparklers which is always a fun addition to the evening! After that, it was time for Roy and Micki’s favourite hobby: gaming! I love weaving my couples’ hobbies and interests into their photos. Roy and Micki spent the rest of the night either moshing to heavy metal or competing on their Xbox.
It was a real pleasure to photograph this beautiful and unique wedding. Thank you Roy and Micki!
