Josh and Kamile’s Pembrokeshire Beach Wedding

We cannot recommend Elliot enough. He made us feel so comfortable and just understood us. Super down to earth, nothing felt forced, just fun. Our wedding pictures are beyond beautiful and exactly what we wanted.

Elliot, thank you, you made us feel so relaxed and are such a nice guy. Not at one point through the day did it feel like we had someone there that we’d only met, our family and friends felt the same!

If you’re worried about posing, Elliot is your guy. No photo felt forced or awkward and Elliot captured the day in the most natural and romantic way possible.

– Josh and Kamile

There’s always something so exciting about travelling for a wedding, especially when it’s to a part of the country you’ve never been. So when I got Josh and Kamile’s enquiry for a coastal wedding in Pembrokeshire, I was instantly excited.

Their day took place at The Druidstone Hotel, a quaint countryside hotel full of character and with the most stunning coastal views. The wild coastline here felt much like my home in Devon, just a lot quieter. I could instantly see the appeal of choosing this magical place to get married.

Josh and his groomsmen decided to start the day with a sunrise swim. If you’re having a coastal wedding, how could you not? I arrived around 7am to meet them for sunrise beach photos. This is a great example of why I offer full-day wedding photography. Sometimes there are moments like this worth capturing that don’t fit into a standard wedding timeline.

A couple of hours later, I went to see Kamile, who was getting ready with her family and her two bunnies, Bramley and Bepis. Throughout the morning, I moved between Josh and Kamile, capturing the excitement as everything started to unfold.

After some solo portraits, it was soon time for the ceremony, which took place in the main hall overlooking the sea. After the ceremony came confetti and group shots, keeping everything relaxed and lighthearted.

With the excitement of everything that had just happened, the newlyweds were ready for some moments of calm. By this point, I’d already learnt that Bramley and Bepis (their bunnies) were practically Josh and Kamile’s children, and it seemed like the perfect moment to escape to their hotel room and get some photos with them (definitely among my favourite pet photos of the year!)

It was also important to Josh and Kamile to include a Lithuanian tradition: the bride being carried over a bridge. So we drove to a nearby bridge they had chosen to capture this moment, along with a few more portraits.

Once we returned, it was time for the wedding breakfast. One of the most amazing things about The Druidstone Hotel is a little blue door that looks like it opens straight out to the ocean. Most guests wanted a photo there, whether as a couple or a group, so I was happy to become everyone’s personal photographer for a while. The afternoon continued with games, cocktails, and some hilarious and emotional speeches.

As the sun set, we went down to the beach for a couples portrait session. The sky was grey and the tide was high, leaving us with a pebble beach instead of sand. It actually suited Josh and Kamile perfectly. They’re fans of heavy rock music and wanted a slightly moodier vibe. Photography is as much about creating beautiful moments as it is about capturing them, and this combination of overcast skies, a churning ocean, and two people completely in love made for some of my favourite beach photos ever.

Finally, we returned to an amazing party with heavy rock music and all the tiramisu you could eat! Thank you Josh and Kamile for the most memorable day, and for introducing me to Pembrokeshire! I’m sure I’ll be back soon!
